There are two ways to dispute incorrect entries on your TransUnion credit file.
Option 1: Dispute from the Pave app
If the incorrect entry is appearing in the Pave app, you can dispute from within the app by following these steps.
- Go to the Credit File Overview section and tap the row where you saw the incorrect entry.
- Tap the incorrect entry.
- Tap "Dispute with TransUnion" at the bottom of the page.
- Follow the instructions on the screen.
Option 2: Dispute directly with TransUnion
You can go to TransUnion's website to open a dispute.
- Get a copy of your statutory credit report from TransUnion online.
- Review your statutory report and tap the orange "Something not right" button at the bottom of the page.
- A pop-up will appear and ask "Would you like to raise a dispute?". Tap "Yes."
- Follow the instructions on the screen.
What happens next
TransUnion will contact the lender or company that reported the information. They’ll investigate and respond, usually within up to 28 days. You’ll then be notified of the outcome, typically by email.
