With a Pave membership, you can view both your TransUnion and Equifax credit scores. Both scores update in the app on the 4th of the month.
TransUnion and Equifax are two of the main credit reference agencies (CRAs) in the UK. Experian is another CRA. While Pave Plus helps build your Experian credit score, we don’t currently display that score in the app.
Why are my TransUnion and Equifax scores different?
There are 2 main reasons why your TransUnion and Equifax scores are different:
- Credit reference agencies collect different information
Not all lenders report information to each CRA. They may only report to one or two. For example, your energy payments might be reported to TransUnion alone, while your credit card payments might be reported to both Equifax and TransUnion.
This means that not every CRA will have a complete record of your credit account and payment history, and some may hold more information about you than others. If you want to know who a lenders/creditor is reporting your payments to you can ask them directly. You can also check your credit report to see the accounts that are being reported.
-
Credit reference agencies use different scoring models
Each CRA implements the information they’ve received into their own algorithms, calculation methods, and scoring models. As a result, there are natural variations in their scoring systems. Experian's maximum score is 1250, Equifax's is 1000, and TransUnion's is 710.
Note: If you're on the legacy Pave Lite plan, you'll only be able to see your TransUnion score.
