Bills Protection is designed to offer help only when you really need it. This helps you avoid using credit unnecessarily, as high credit utilisation can have a negative impact on your credit score.
Funds will only be offered when all of the following conditions are met:
- We have determined that Bills Protection is affordable for you.
- We have detected at least 1 eligible bill in your transactions.
- Your bank balance is not enough to cover the full bill, 1-2 days before its predicted due date.
To help you stay in control of your finances and maintain a healthy utilisation:
- We will set a personalised withdrawal limit based on what’s affordable for you, according to your current financial circumstances. This ensures you can access support without putting unnecessary strain on your budget.
- We will only offer the amount you need to help cover your eligible bill. For example, if you have £10 in your bank account and an upcoming £25 bill, we will offer £15. This is just enough to cover the shortfall, even if your withdrawal limit is higher.
We will only offer funds 1-2 days before the predicted due date of the eligible bill. For example, if the eligible bill is predicted to be due on 4 January, we will only offer funds on either 2 or 3 January, provided your bank balance is insufficient. You will see the predicted due date of your bills in the Bills section of the Pave app.
